So you've booked the sea-front villa, bought the tickets, and have all the intention to hit the beach in style. It's as simple as packing a few chic and cute pieces to take you from day to night. Here's the cheat sheet of what to bring along for your beach getaway.

Beach wardrobe checklist

A seaside vacay calls for wild colors, easy prints and versatile weekend staples like these:

• A cute sun dress or billowy maxi dress in white or floral is always great for the beach. They're easy to toss over your bathing suit for a poolside cocktail, and equally great as standalone pieces.
• Light cotton tees, tanks or tube tops in cheery citrus hues or chic nautical stripes, which you can layer or wear alone
• Denim cut-off shorts or mini skirt -- they go great with just about everything
• A large scarf or sarong that can do triple duty as skirt, beach cover-up and shawl
• Chic sunglasses (think gold-rimmed aviators or oversized shades) and sun hat
• A loose cardi or jumper for chilly evenings
• Rubber flip flops for day; jeweled thongs or gladiator sandals for night
• Bright-colored bikini or one-piece swimsuit
• A straw bag to tote your beach gear

Don't forget sun protection

Sunburn's definitely not cool. If you plan to spend a significant amount of time in the sun, remember to pack your sunscreen and other essentials. This list includes:
